Legendary American clarinetist Benny Goodman, nicknamed the “King of Swing,” inspired the creation of some of the most important clarinet repertoire to date. Francis Poulenc, Leonard Bernstein, Morton Gould, Darius Milhaud and others all wrote works for Goodman upon hearing his irresistible playing, and this program showcases some of the virtuosic works that are at times profoundly gripping, and other times pure fun.
Our Salon Concert on April 21st at 7:30 PM will be presented at a beautiful private home in Fort Worth. The concert includes a complimentary pre-concert reception with refreshments and hors d’oeuvre.
